Heartbeat and its notation, these are motives that are intimate yet anonymous, they accompany and testify our existence. This basic, inner expression became a theme in my work presented at the exhibition. It serves as a metaphor of our common experience, our affliction and interdependence.
The work consists of a video piece and special books - music scores. Their content is based on a record of one heart - beat scanned into a stave. The light sensitiveness of used materials makes the notion changing, disappearing, while particles of sweat on readers / performers' fingerprints leave permanent traces on photographic emulsion.
"Everything that we do is music" - these words by John Cage are not only a poetical statement; they speak about the world we share and belong to.
