In September we visited the West Cork Arts Centre to view the exhibition BreadMatters III: “Mediating Art and Bread.” In a follow up workshop with Alison Trim we explored the colours of bread. And so we got to work on our own response to the exhibition. We gathered our parents recipes and made our own bread at home. We did observational drawings of the breads. We did some experiments to see how yeast rises. Then we had a bread festival in school to taste each others bread. We even made a yeast brack in a bread machine. Sarah visited our school and showed us how to make a fibre collage of bread.
